Chad,
As an FYI, I recently bought one off of eBay ( think it was $15. Anyway, if you want to use it on the car (rear) all you have to do is tag that tag, and the existing tag to DMV. They will enter it ( think it was $20) and give you a piece of paper. Put the real tag and piece of paper in the trunk put the 66 plate on the rear and your good to go!! If you get stopped just show the piece of paper and the "real" tag......enjoy..jeff

You can find them at almost every swap meet in GA. There are a couple of guys I see at them and have some really clean original ones most of the time. $15- $20 normally.

I've got one around here somewhere... bought for and then removed from my '66 wagon when I sold it.
There is a guy here in Marietta that sells old plates...he has over 7,000 of them. Priced from about $40 and up...depending on condition.
He has a good variety of available counties too. The first number on the tag is the county.
Some of his tags have never been assigned. I've got his phone number if interested...

Mine should be here on Thursday! I have already spoke to the tag office and they said it was a hassle free transisition

it's a no charge registration in alabama. you get a small V sticker indicating it's registered. same restrictions as historic or vintage plate though, no everyday usage, to shows and parades only.
