The likely OEM inner race (1971 Chevelle drum front hub) I removed measured 2.331 on my dial caliper. It had to be tapped out, and, after it and bore were lightly cleaned up with fine emery paper, it required light press to re-install. (I reused it because the new replacement was so loose.)

The replacement bearing box from Rockauto shows words A6, National, Federal Mogul, Moog and Made in China. The Rockauto listing called it a "BCA/National part number A6 1.25x2.328x.625." The outer race measured 2.328 on my dial caliper--.003 less than what I measured on the OEM part.

Note that 21/64 is .328125.

The replacement outer race was so loose that could be moved radially when fully inserted.

I have had good experience with Rockauto, and don't say there is a problem with these bearings. Curious about any size variation that may have been noted by others.

I've run into similar problems with bearings bought from NAPA. It's a common problem with the GARBAGE made in CHINA! Every single person in this country should refuse to buy ANYTHING from CHINA.

I took a look at napaonline.com and it seems that the #6 bearing set is indeed what's called up.

If the Communist bearing race was that loose in the hub, all I can say is you ought to be glad you don't have melamine poisoning, too.

I'm absolutely convinced that there's NOTHING so simple or common that the Chinese still can't manage to TOTALLY PHUCK UP.

I've always used TIMKEN bearings. US manufactured. (Some manuf in India also)
