I am planning on doing a brake and suspension upgrade to my 64, which includes rear discs, sway bar, polygraphite bushings, and boxing the lower arms. I would like to keep all my 64 stuff original and use a 65 rear and control arms from my parts El Camino.

I have read that a 64 has factory adjustable upper control arms (by means of an eccentic bolt/bushing). The 65 does not. Will there be a problem just bolting in the 65 hardware into the 64 frame? I don't think so but wanted any one who has experience to chime in. Thanks. -John

Use the 65/67 upper arms on the 65 & later rears.
You would need to trim the 64 arms for the larger bushings on the 65 & later ones.

Hmmmmmmm..... I just installed a 69 12 bolt into my 64 using all the original arms and springs. Went together fine.

Cam, when I installed the 66, 12 bolt into my 64 the 64 arms with the adjustable bolt would not fit correct without I trim a small amount of the flange from the arms. This flange dose not come all the way to the end on the 65 & later cars with the larger upper bushings. John has the 65 arms and wants to keep the 64 arms. So I suggested he use the 65 arms.
