Ok,

I pulled my wheels to bleed the brakes and noticed a slice in the metal line that goes from the rubber to the drum.
Here is my situation. My Buick front brake line stripped at the upper rubber line connection The lower broke at the threads on the drum on the metal lines. I have to move the car to my new house which is about 10 blocks away. Would it be okay to use a fuel line and some clamps and then bleed the brakes. I would drive it right to the house which is two minutes away. Any ideas would be much appriated

I'm sorry to jump on the chevelle board for my buick problem. Us A-Body buick guys don't have any support!

Thanks,
Chris

To move it that far and with exteme caution I would just plug the line to that one wheel and let the other 3 do the stopping. Just be careful the car will pull real hard to opposite side if you have to bake hard.

Fuel line is made to hold fuel pressure, 7-9psi maybe up to 50 psi if its for FI. Stepping on the brakes makes a few hundred so I'd say don't do it or you'll be wondering how to re paint everywhere the brake fluid strpped the paint off.

Hey,

First, Thanks for repling so quickly!!

Is their anything you guys suggest to plug it with or what is the best way to get those threads out of the drum.

Thanks,
Chris

Couldn't you just put in a new wheel cylinder? They are cheap ($10-15), and pretty easy to install. Then you don't have to deal with messed up threads at all.....

New wheel cylinders across the front and both hoses while you are working there and rebleed after installation.

If I get your explanation right, it goes like this?

Hard line (frame), rubber hose, hard line (on backing plate), wheel cyl. ??

Why not use a dinky "vise-grip" on the rubber line as close to the frame as you can get it. Just don't crush the hose, and be prepared the car will pull when you use the brakes.

???
