I'm looking for some traction assist for my chevelle. I have been looking for a setup that would help me launch this thing. Where can I buy a set of lift bars or who has any other recommendations? Keep in mind the budget is extremely tight.
The car is used primarily for night time and weekend cruises but will eventually see track time.

Thanks

I just finshed installing a set of SSM's on my '70 Chevelle. The installation was pretty easy. I haven't driven my car yet as I still need to do a little more to my car to get it on the road. I ordered my bars from Summit the part number was SSM-1312, I paid $160 for them. I'm not sure if Summit still handles them, I haven't seen them in the book for a while. I'll look on my instruction sheet for a web site or a phone number if you like. :D

Thanks Chris! I also looked in my catalog and checked the Summit website with no luck.

Okay guys i did some searching and it appears that South Side Machine has changed their name to SSM Auto lift bars.

like you i was and still am on a tight budget. my budget rear suspension consists of ssm lift bars, air lift drag bags, summit brand adjustable shocks, stock control arm braces and stock upper control arms with rubber bushings.

i havent had it on the track but there was a noticable difference out on the street. the rear end now feels much more solid and i have no wheelhop at all.

hope this helps
