Anyone been to the Half Moon event down in Shiner, TX? Been wanting to take a trip down to Shiner for some time and thought a car show and fireworks show would be a fun event!

Is it worth the drive (about 5 hours from here)?

Never been but the car show looks good and allways good to camp out. I'll be at Scholtz Garden and Mucky Duck on the 1st and 3rd. Thats in Austin and Houston.

I lived 8 miles away in Moulton for almost 20 years.

From what I hear the owners of the Spoetzel Brewery that makes Shiner really do a lot to promote that event now. Once upon a time, it was just another small get together in a small town that gave the Bohemians an excuse to drink, as if.........

Now, it's a fairly well publicized event that draws people from as far away as Austin and Houston.
