well i picked up a center mount spring compressor to put on my 2" drop springs I bought, I can easily figure out how to put the sucker on, but once i have it in and the control arm back on, how do I get this thing off, one end will fit through the control arm lower hole, ah im just not sure of anything here. I just dont know how to use it right! The bolt end would obviously go on the bottom, only place it can be reached.... well any help would be great

Ah, i read an old post again. Someone said to compress it then wrap it with a coat hanger, then once its in cut the sucker off, seems like a golden idea to me!

The spring compressor comes apart enough to get it out. Just pull the threaded part out then work the arms out seperatly. It's not that difficult. Just have to make sure you don't pinch the arms between the spring and frame or something.

I just did mine about 2 weeks ago too and ran in to about the same problems. I got the 2 inch drop springs. When I compressed it, there was about 3 inches of the bolt end of the spring compressor sticking out at the end of the top of the spring. I went ahead and put the spring in place. Pulled up the lower control arm and slowly jacked it up. Then I released the spring compressor while the lower control arm was jacked up. It worked out for me that way. Hope this helps.

Im amazed! It worked, well the driver side is done, but now i start the passenger side and every bolt and every nut and washer doest want to come out, not to mention my crap selection of tools (not really that bad) I cant get my ball joint off now, the driver side was no problem, I got both bolts off the control arm and its basically just stuck up on the ball joint. If your thinking hammer wacks ive been banging on it forever!

You need to use a sledge hammer and in between that, you need to use a pickle fork. I had the same problem and almost gave up. Just keep trying!
