I pulled my lower control arm and I am putting in new 2" drop coil springs, please tell me I dont need to pull the upper control arms to replace my shocks!? I've changed out alot of 4x4 shocks but never till now on my 71 velle. also with my new coil springs one side is open and the other end is "squared" the open end goes to the top right? Thanks to anyone! Help! :eek: tongue.gif

Shouldn't need to remove the upper arm to change the shock. The nut on the top of the shock should be accessable with a wrench.

On the springs, the flatened end goes on top. By "open" I think you mean the end where the coils aren't touching. That is the bottom.
