Why do some boxed control arms have a V in the insert and some are square??? Did all Chevelle boxed arms have the insert square????

IIRC the factory ones were straight and the repo ones I have seen have the v notch in them.

I've got 2 sets of what I believe are originals and 1 set have a v-notch and the other is straight. Maybe different plants, different era. I've heard diff. opinions on which is correct. I personally believe both are.

My car is earlt 70 it had original square inserts. I have a nice set with V notched inserts. I only want to use them if both would be correct.

I installed a set of used OEM boxed lwr ctrl arms & rear sway bar to my son's 70 Chevelle Malibu. It now has a vibration rattle that we cannot figure out where it is coming from. Anyone else experience this? Sounds like it's coming from behind the rear seat, package tray, trunk hinge bars, exhaust??? Only makes noise @2000 rpm.:(:confused::mad:
