Hey everybody, here's a little background on what's up:

My dad and I are getting ready to rebuild the front suspension on the Chevelle and are in the process of ordering parts. We are also changing out our 355 for a 468, so we know we need BB springs now, but the rest is up in the air right now.

Can anyone tell me what would be best for giving the car a low stance (2-3 inch drop) without sacrificing ride quality? Would you recommend spindles or would professional lowering springs (i.e. Eibach or Edelbrock) be the better choice? Also, are there any special shocks that would be recommended?

I'd appreciate any info on this, thanks in advance!

go with springs, you can upgrade to a nice of high rate springs to cornr better. Also, most drop spindles require you to use 9.5" G body brakes, too small.

I agree with Dennis,,use springs to get the desired height. Coil Spring Specialties can build whatever you need. www.coilsprings.com (http://www.coilsprings.com)

I noticed that OPGI sells "low-profile springs" that give the car a 2 or 3 inch drop. Are these any good? $160 for a set sounds reasonable, that's about what I paid for my Bell Tech lowering spindles for my Camino.

i used drop spindles. got them from superior and also upgraged to wilwood 4 piston calipers. i am very satisfied. at first i combined with eibach springs(1.5" lowered for a total of 3.5) and i could not turn my wheels other than strait. graemlins/clonk.gif would of been great for quarter miler. anyway took eibachs out upgraded with heavy duty moog with 1/2 coil cut off. car handles great, very flat also had edlebrock shocks and a 1 1/4" sway bar. I love the ride not too harsh with the stock springs. just my .02 worth. good luck.

I used the 2" drop springs from OPG. I'm very happy with the result. Check out my signature.
