I wanted to something different and I am moving the automatic shifter off the stearing column to the floor. Any good suggestions or has anyone done this before? I currently have a bench seat and have converted to buckets and currently no center console.

Options:
1) Gennie shifter straight out of the floor
2) Hurst shifter straight ot of the floor
3) stock automatic shifter console
4) Stock console with the gennie or hurst shifter

I hear the shifters that mount on the tranny transfer noise and heat.. I'm in the same boat as you, looking.

The Hurst Dual Gate is always a good possibility. I prefer the clean look of just the shifter with a boot like a four speed...

The Turbo Action Cheetah SCS Shifter worked well in my '70...both with a bench seat and later when I converted to buckets.

Hello, I have a Hurst Quarter Stick Shifter with the aluminum cover and nuetral safety switch inside the cover and like it alot. I have no console and its a clean set up, you can also purchase a reverse lite switch kit to go inside the cover for convenience. If you wanted you could even paint the cover black. Install was easy and I have the front exit cable type on mine 4 now. I was very happy with the operation and looks of it. But now going 5 speed Tremec and transferring the shifter to my other project an S-10 V-8 with 355 and TH400.
