Has anyone had any problems with PST's lower ball joint boots. The boot doesn't fit down on the side of the ball joint like it looks like it should. Only one side of the boot will go down at a time. It seems like it is too small. Is it supposed to be this hard to get on or is something wrong? Oh yeah, and I already torqued the ball joints down. graemlins/clonk.gif Thanks

what do you mean you already torqued them down? they are pressed into the control arms???
the fit you are describing sounds right. what i did was, take a metal tube that fit over the rubber boot and rested on the hard lip of the rubber boot, then hit the metal tube with a hammer to evenly pop the rubber boot over the ball joint.

I recently received my front end kit from PST. Before installation, I called PST's tech line with a bunch of questions. I noticed the rubber boot problem on the lower and the guy said that it is supposed to be like that. Give them a call. I had to leave a message, but the guy called back a few hours later. Or since Moog makes the ball joints, maybe they can help.

I think he is talking about the castle nut to spindle?

Thanks for the replies. So did the tech guy say to seat them or just leave them "on top". I didn't put the castle nut on the other side yet so I'll try to seat that boot with the pipe method.

I just used the pipe and tube method and it worked perfectly. Now I just have to figure out how to seat the one with the spindle on already.

You will probably need to remove the control arm from the car and use a large piece of pipe over the ball joint with a large hammer to seat the boot.

Other option is to purchase Poly boots from PST. They make a nice boot that is made to just sit on top with sharp beveled edges to keep dirt out. I have these on my car - but they cost another $20 from PST.
