Hi, I did read thru all of the other posts before but I still need help
I have a 69 chevelle SS and I need help with the wipers, the wiper motor and the washer wasn't on the car when I got it so I put them on and the wipers won't turn off, I'm not sure if I have the right switch
The switch has 3 prongs with a black wire in the middle and a light blue wire on one end and a dark blue wire on the other end, the wipers work without any wires connected to the switch
The switch has the mist button you push in for the washer mist and the switch checks like this, from one end to the middle connection it opens and closes , From the end connection to the other end I don't get a reading unless I really have the ohm meter turned up high like 4 meg
On the wiper motor there is a black wire with a yellow stripe that has to be on the center prong for the wipers to work but it really looks like the connector plug should be turned around because it looks like I am looking at the bottom of the plug that way
There is a black wire on the other wiper connection and a light blue wire also
The washer pump has 2 black wires with a yellow stripes on one connection and a dark blue wire
Any help is very appreciated,
thank you
jerry

I forgot to say in my previous post that the wiper motor housing and the washer pump housing are grounded
Thanks

I went through this with my 66. I have the service books and wiring diagrams, etc.

I asked a bunch of questions here, and it all came together.

Biggest problem I had was that the diagrams did not simply state that the body is the ground. I also probably had a 40 year old ground setup. I had the dash and all out when I was doing it, so I experimented with ground paths, etc.

Ended up having the switch and motor on the bench and made up some jumpers and confirmed how it worked.

Thanks for the repy but I think I found the trouble, I took the switch apart and seen where the contact on the switch is supposed to make contact with the bracket and it was rusted there, so I cleaned it up and now I do get a reading from the switch bracket to that prong on the switch where it didn't make contact before, this would be the ground connection for the switch to the bracket and then to the car body or frame and to the wiper housing
Thanks
Jerry
I will put it in tomorrow and let you know iif it works`

Here's a pic of switch and motor, assuming you have the concealed wiper option.
