I bought a new oil pressure switch for a gauge set-up from Ground UP (part number GAC-310) for my 69 L78 and an M&H engine harness for gauges. The terminal on the switch is a spade and the connector on the wire is a boot like the the one for a brake distribution block. Will the oil pressure gauge work correctly if I cut off the boot connection on the wire and replace it with the female connector for the spade?

It will work just fine. For a good connection make sure to solder it. I have to do the same thing to my 69 too. I wish we could buy the correct style switch though.
