: Reference point to straighten wheels?

I pulled apart my whole front end except for the pitman arm and center link. I had to move the steering wheel to remove a lower control arm bolt and the tie rods were already removed. I did not turn the wheel back to its original spot. Now after i loosly put everything back together one wheel is turned more than the other? I put on new tie rods at the same length as my old ones. Is there a way to tell without the tie rods attached where is straight? do i just straighten the brakes by eyeball, and turn the wheel until i can fit the tie rods on, or is there a reference point like the pitman arm angle or where the center link should be when the wheels are straight? any ideas will help,
thanks
Frank

Set your wheels straight with the steering wheel centered.

Turn your steering wheel lock to lock while counting the number of turns. Then turn it to the middle.
