How the heck do you remove the entire assembly from the dash?

I cant figure it out.
Ive been pushing and pulling, been behind the dash and cant see what needs to be removed in order to slide it out.

Screw the back off.

BUT anyone with a 69 should either disconnect the cigarette lighter or replace it because they are VERY PRONE to sticking in and melting the dash.

Great advice Dean. This happened to me only after I completed my resto and hooked up the battery not realizing the lighter was depressed. The lighter moved about 4 in. lower to a custom location. :(

Hasnt worked in years.
Im wanting to mvoe my push button start button to this location.
My button is literally the same size of the cig lighter hole.
