Hey guys, still looking for a 70 ss. No luck so far in finding what I want. Wanted some opinions on this car listed here in the classifieds. Price is a bit high IMO, but would like other views. Does anybody know of this car or has anybody looked at it? Thanks in advance.

Sorry Im not going to comment on the price but I think it would be worth checking out, unmolested cars that are all original like this are hard to find, I think she is definatly worth checking out and maybe making an offer. Dont buy sight unseen, and take someone else with you. Sometimes its easy to fall in love before you even see them in person.

As Jim says above, the car is worth checking out. If all the original components are indeed there and the build sheets are legit, it's a solid car to start a resto on. Sheet metal and body work can get very expensive if you can't do the work yourself. If you have to pay a shop to do this work, this may not be the car for you. Once a project like this gets started, many guys get overwhelmed at the actual costs involved. Many guys have started projects like this only to find themselves in multiyear, full blown, frame-off restos costing 10's of thousands. Are you looking for a documented matching number show car or will a nice driver satisfy your needs? The reason I ask is there is a great difference in cost. You could probably find a decent driver, road ready for 25K give or take. This car could potentially cost upwards of 30/40K on the resto alone, depending on how far you go with it. If you're looking for a project car for an extensive resto this is a good candidate and the asking price isn't that high IMO, it's all in what you're looking for.

SS are very difficult to find for less than 20K, but by the time you fix it up it will be well over 40K invested. If you are handy i.e. bodywork, paint, engine it's then worth it. I have a friend who might be selling a real nice 70SS extremely well documented red, buckets, CI, A/C detailed engine compartent very, very clean Chevelle for 40-45K. Just turn the key and drive. Just my .02
