I am going to add a booster to my 69. It is a 307 2 barrel engine. I need a picture or description of where the vacuum for the booster goes and what type of fitting I need to add it on.

Anyone? Any small block with a 2 barrel will work out for what I need to see

Tom,
I had a 66 chev Imp and a 68 pon cat both had rochester 2 bbl's.I seem to remember a threaded fitting with a tube off the back of the carb base plate.

Tom -- If your Chevelle is an automatic then you should have a port on the back of your manifold, behind the carb that is threaded in and has one nipple fitting that provides vacuum to the transmission. This fitting gets replaced with another one that has an SAE flare fitting on the other side (facing the booster). This fitting attaches to a length of bend steel line that goes to the booster. The steel line terminates to another nipple fitting near the driver's side valve cover. From there, there is a length of vacuum line that goes to the booster. I can send you a picture from the assembly manual, but I don't have that with me right now. Basically there is a Tee-fitting that is threaded into the back of the intake manifold.

Erik,

That would be great, send it on over whenever you get a free minute. This is going to be one of those things I do on a weekend when I am bored anyways so no rush. Thanks!

Tom, do a Master cylinder check too, most times the m/c will need to be changed because of the depth of the pushrod on the booster.

Thanks for the pics Erik, much appreciated.
I have the MC that came with the booster in the garage smile.gif . I'm going to clean it up tomorrow and maybe put it on Sunday or maybe even tommorrow if I have time.

I checked with my local dealer and those fittings are no longer available...disco'ed in like 1981, but you can probably get them from a wrecking yard or maybe aftermarket.
