I have a 69 rag top and want to put disc brakes on the front. What GM cars make a good donor car for this project?

all '69-72 GM A-body, '69 F-body, and 69-74 X-body cars.

Chevy: Chevelle, El Camino, Monte Carlo, Camaro, Nova
Buick: Skylark, GS, Apollo
Oldsmobile: Cutlass, Cutlass "S", 4-4-2, Omega
Pontiac: LeMans, GTO, Firebird, Ventura
GMC: Sprint

67-68s of the same cars will also work, but they have 4-piston calipers, are much more expensive to fix, and are extremely rare (and valuable to those with '67-68 cars)

Do a search under "B-body" or "Tall Spindles" to look into that option as well. (costs about the same, sometimes more, but handles better and have 12" discs for more stopping power)

I am right in the middle of a b-body spindle swap on my 69 SS. its about the same, and the added meat on the rotors and 3/4 inch drop will definelty be worth it in both handling and braking. a pretty easy install too.

better yet. I might even consider selling my literally brand new disc brake set-up if your interested. spindles, rotors ( brand new, a little surface rust), new bearings, seals, dust caps. I have to keep my calipers for my upgrade though..you can pick up reman calipers at Pep boys for 27 beans each and be rolling..email me at supersport4542001@yahoo.com if your interested,

I'm doing the B-body swap too, but only because the 95 caprice I'm swapping the LT-1 out of and into the chevelle has all the braking parts new so all I need is the 1LE rotors and new ball-joints smile.gif
