: Ebay sellers - sometimes you wonder????

This is not a bash at a car or or a part or a description in the sale ad. This is about a seller not responding to a question which seems to be one of the most important things to do if you are a seller (which is re-iterated on here over and over again). Hey, if a prospective buyer is interested, you have to answer his enquiry.

There's a $250 item on Ebay right now that I am very interested in. It has a "buy it now" only button (no bidding). I am definitely willing to pay that price. Last Friday I sent him a simple question about the item which I need to know the answer before I buy. It has now been six days with no reply and the auction ends tomorrow. I have no problem giving him a few days leeway over a weekend or perhaps he is out of town for a couple of days. But no response in six days

Can't understand why a person would list something on Ebay, pay the listing fee, but not care if it sells. Maybe he'll respond at the last minute. If so, I don't know if I would be interested in dealing with him now

There, the vent is off my chest, thanks

Yes Barry, I realize that could be a possibility.

Maybe he doesn't just like you. :p
You're probably right Hank :)

But why would anybody list something and then go on vacation? You've got to be dumb as a box of rocks to do that!

A couple of weeks ago, I found a item I was interested in. It did not have a bid yet so I emailed the seller with an offer. I did not hear back from him for 4 days then when it did not sell guess what? I received an email accepting my offer. But, I offered him 50 bucks less and he still took it. He could have made a extra $50 if he would not have been so greedy!!!!!

I had this happen on an Ebay purchase,
the person addmitted to going on vacation in an email to me telling me he was sorry for the delay and was shipping, my stuff.

Ya, some people are like Slinkys, pretty much useless but still fun to watch when you push them down the stairs.

I get about 50% response to questions.

Guy had an NOS steering box on last week. I asked if he had the original box and what the turns were lock to lock.
Got no response.
So...........he got no bid !

Don, if they don't answer your question, there is a reason.
I've found that it's because they are hiding something. My advice, don't buy it and look elsewhere.

Ya, that's what I figure. He obviously doesn't have the answer I'm looking for so why waste time to respond I guess. The item ended a few hours ago, but has been relisted for another 29 days under the same link in my "watch list". Don't know how that happens, thought a relist got a new number????? Anyway, he is a huge player as he has about 8 pages of items in his "store" with 15 items per page.
