Hi on a 70 chevelle that had power disc brakes, could I bolt on a master cylinder from a 71 camaro with manual disc brakes? and will that still stop the car okay? thanks. Jim

You can try it and find out.
I would think if the Comaro had manual disks, it should work on the velle. Also, I did some reserch on this and came up with somebody saying a 77 Malibu master cyll will work.
I have my old standard drum MC on my 69. It stops pretty good, but I am going to try the 77 malibu MC.

Your power disc MC has a 1.125" bore, while the manual MC has a 1" more. This means that less effort will be required by your leg, but the travel will be longer and not as firm. You may like the larger bore, or you might like the smaller bore, it's up to you. Other than that, just make sure the fittings are of the same size.

Hi silver 69, so let me see if I understand this If I use the 1.125 bore I should have less effort pushing? thats with the push rod in the lower hole right? PS do they make repro push rods for manuaal brakes or does gm still have them? Thanks Jim

Good luck pushing a 1 1/4 bore M/C with no power assist. I would go with a 15/16" bore M/C at the largest.

The smaller the bore size the less effort it requires to depress the pedal, it also will have more pedal travel.

Okay so I go with the camaro manual brake master. I got a extra core to exchange. Jim
