Hey I'm really trying to get this car fired up, I have a 350motor with a 400 turbo tranny I am not an eletrical guru by any means. I am asking for help in exactly what wires need to be hooked up to start this car as well as having the tranny shift correctly.Due to budget issues the original harness is being used for tempoary...This is what I have under the hood edelbrock 650 carb, altenator and hei distributor(82' chevy s-10 donor)...Don't have any heater or a/c(dumb I know) shaved firewall no windshield motor either..Well that's the break down can anybody help me please...

Just put power to the BAT terminal on the HEI dizzy. 12g purple to starter "S" terminal. Thats all you really need to crank and start the car.

For the tranny not shifting correctly, the electrical is only for downshifting under WOT. Upshifts are not electrical. What problems are you having?

I haven't ever put a 400 into a car before so didn't know where I had to hook for power can I use any of the wire harness slots that will no longer be hooked up in the engine bay like the wipers or the heater will either of those give my tranny the necessary power to shift? I was told by my nieghbor that his son used his high beam switch, I realy think I'll use my high beams and would rather use a slot on the harness that I now have open...I moved my battery to my trunk used 0 gauge wire..I have removed the rope wire from the harness as well can this slot be used for the hei hot wire since it won't be a resistor wire any longer it will still give the 12v,right?

You can use one of those for power, but is must be wired through a throttle switch so the trans only gets power at WOT.

Yes.
