Ok. after a frantically late start Tuesday before last I have succeeded in driving my new supercharged motor from Temecula Ca to Minneapolis Mn via Tulsa Ok. Long hot trip that tells me that at 66 years old I should be driving an expensive luxury car and not a supercharged hot rod. I am beat!
I also found out the limitations of my charging system. I cannot drive with headlights, radio, wipers, EFI w/2 255gph fuel pumps all running at the same time and expect the car to start again at a rest stop. Fortunatly a guy offered me a jump as I was getting my jumpre cables out. Nice guy!
The Chevelle pulls like crazy up to any speed you feel brave enough to drive. I can make the speedo needle disappear deep in the dashboard with no qualms but then I get it back in sight quckly. Doing that now days, I suspect, will get you a night in jail if caught.
Gotta love blowers.
Driving impressions are that this is likely my last muscle car. I think I am getting too old for the effort that they cause. When I get back to cali I'll post pics of the finished product.
