Hello, Im at my wits end here staring at fittings. I have a set of brand new steel trans cooler lines with male inverted flare fittings.. you know the ones that go into the radiator. The problem in I dont want to plug into the radiator, i want to use a dedicated cooler.

All i need to do convert that male inverted flare (5/16" i think it is) to and -6AN fitting so i can hook up to the new cooler. But for the life of me i cant find any fitting that can make this happen! I want to do the whole thing in hard line. I would rather not have to cut and re-flare, if i did it would have to be 5AN (5/16" tube) and they dont make a 5AN to 6AN adapter either. I really dont want to have to run all new tubing since i have a great fitting set of prebents.

Can anyone help me out here?

update... may have found something that will work?

A female-female 5/16 1/2x20 union like this:

and then a -6 AN to Male 1/2 in.-20 Inverted Flare like this:

Would this work? Im not sure if i have my sizes correct.

what hve you guys done for this?

isnt the AN bevel at 37* and the double flare 45*? I bet if you go to mcmaster carr you could probably find what you need in thier catalog. jim

Looks good to me. on the AN fitting you have the flare on one side and the AN on the other, should work.
