Can anyone tell me what diameter the speedometer is in a 69 chevelle? Thanks

I dont have the answer but im curious. Are you asking because of the thought of putting an aftermarket guage in there, such as an Auto Meter Speedo?

If you do a search here. You should be able to find examples of aftermarket guages in the stock 69 dash. Its been done several times. I have never measure a stock 69 guage before so I cant answer that part.

I don't have my cluster out and I don't know how exact a figure you need, but roughly 4" +- 1/8" is what I eyeballed.

5" tach/speedo fits perfect. The center holds a 2 1/16 fuel guage perfectly also.

Thanks, I have since got a hold of my spare cluster, it measures 4 1/2. I think RUQKENF is correct that it will fit, I was thinking of using the autometer 5" electric speedometer and either the full or partial sweep cluster gauge in 5". I was considering the 5" speedometer/tach but thought it was too crowded on the face, but as luck would have it i spotted a tach that replaces the clock in the ground up catalog so i am thinking of using that since my clock doesn't work any way. I will keep you posted, Alan
