I just recieved my brand new enclosed trailer for the Chevelle. I want to add the extra little ramp on the bottom of the ramp so that the car doesn't have to get up that steep edge. It is attached with a piano hinge and then just flips over.

Anyone who has done this know how big of a piano hinge I need? The one I have is 2 inch where it screws to each side but not sure if that is strong enough. It was the biggest they had at Home Depot.

My brother's similar race car trailer has what you are talking about, and the hinge goes all the way across the width of the door. I belive the width of the hinge is only a few inches wide.

I wouldn't use any hinge from HD on a trailer. You should be able to get one from a trailer dealer or manufacturer.
