Little different deal but I would like your input. I know the negative of it being a rebuilt truck but for us to comment lets assume the work has been done correctly. I will not invest a dime without an inspection and very thorough on the frame.
I just need to know how much to discount it based on the rebuilt title. It makes no difference to me as I will keep it until its value is not effected by the title.
The owner is soliciting an offer.
Thanx

I would want to know exactly what kind of damage it had before the repairs. Was there any frame or suspension damage? It sure looks nice enough but you won't now if it is right until it is driven. I would offer kelly blue book wholesale value because of the salvage title. I just sold my 2003 5.3 L Silverado Z71 4x4 extended cab for $10,000 and it was in perfect condition with 68,000 miles.

The one negative feedback hes got, is for a van that the buyer says had 10K in frame damage. The buyer is full of crap. No way you can have that much in frame damage. A new frame is $4500~ and about 40 hours labor, which is about $2000 labor.....no where near $10K.
The truck is pretty close to the price I expected it to be before I even opened the ad, so in reality, he probably wants $12K. I could probably build you one for about $9-10K.

Dave Thanx for such an answer that resembles my own thoughts. The advantage I have is I can make an offer back of where his BIN is and if it is accepted I can be there in 4 hours to examine. If it is misrepresented I can be back home in the same 4 hours and only be out about $150 in fuel and expenses. Not a lot of risk.
I think I will offer about $10K and see where the dust settles. It would appear to be a good buy at that money.

It was reported a salavage title in the state of AL in 4/1/07, just make sure it wasn't in a flood or something.... it doesn't tell me why but I would be VERY suspecious of anything with a salavge title......
Edit: after my post found something interesting.... it had a warranty claim for something with the trans on 1/5/07 and the milage was 56K, now how can the milage in the pic be 54K? Things that make you go hmmmm..... I would stay away.... if its too good a deal it probably is for a reason!
