While working on our 66 bbc, we notice that the engine has a slight tilt towards the firewall, when you pull the valve covers, there is oil at the rear on the heads pooled up. Just wondering if we should drop the front motor plate to level it up? (not a stock application) or does it really matter?

That's how they sit normally. Notice how your intake manifold has the carb pad raised in the rear to level out the carb with the motor tilted back.

Don't worry about it. That's how they sit from the factory. The Dart carb pad is probably parallel to the side rails. It is not machined with a slant like others because most tube chassis cars are set up that the engine angle is pretty level. Yours apparently was set up with a rearward tilt. Just dropping the front motor plate would probably put the mid plate in a twist. Mine has motor plates in it and was set pretty much at the stock angle too.

Ray, Thanks for the reply, it is a tube chassis, we are just noticing a few things and wondering if they need fixed. Also our motor sits 1" offset to the passenger side. Not really sure why it was done this way, but maybe to fit the headers and steering on the drivers side.
