I know this have been mentioned before. But everyone has always talked about using the boosters off the 1ton trucks or GN's. Has anyone looked into the boosters from the Astro Vans? I would assume they probably are identical to the GN boosters, but much much easier to find in the wrecker.
Also, are pumps the same, or do they need larger capacity pumps for the hyrdoboost?
Thanks

I took a look at recent GM trucks that had hydraboost and some similar truck models that did not have hydroboost. There did not seem to be any trend that would indicate that hydroboost required more pressure or flow than vehicles without it. Most trucks today have maximum system pressures of 1500 psi.
Maximum Chevelle steering pump pressures from 1964 through mid 1971 were in the 900 psi range. Steering pump max pressures increased in 1972 to around 1400 psi and continued in that range from then on. I would think that the 1400 psi pressures would be sufficient for any A-car hydroboost system.

PowerBob I went to your site and looked at you unit and it looks
diferent than the hydroboost unit. It looks like the small tank
is not there. Does your unit have the provision for reserve fluid
in case there is a leak or motor turned off.
What is the price for a crome unit? Will you give Team Chevelle a
discount? I am in the market for a unit. Will be puting an order in a
week. Thanks

I was at PowerBrakeBobs shop a few weeks ago, I needed my vacuume booster looked at. Bob has some really great stuff going on with the Hydroboost, he showed me a pic of a hemi E-body Chrysler with hydroboost on it, and lord knows you could never have a car like that with vacuume power brakes. He can color the hydroboost with powdercoating (I saw these and they are way kewl). If I were building a car with limited spacer or a cam pulling under 10 in of vacuume my call would be to PowerBrakeBob. Thanks Bob for working on my vacuume booster, work great now.

another REALLY great source for a hydroboost system with the worlds best customer service would be hydroboost.com talk to paul.
