when looking from the front and back, the car is sitting lower on the driver's side by a couple inches. when i bought the car about 4 years ago, the guy who had it before me had replaced either the front springs or the rear(can't remember) the remaining 2 are original. the body leveled itself out a bit when i put the hood and front bumper back on the car after them being off for some work, but there is still a little bit of a tilt. could it be the springs? i'm really not sure since i'm not experienced with suspension work, and don't want to order 4 new springs if that's not the problem. has anyone had this happen? the car was fine up up until this spring when it sat for a few months when i was doing some work on it.
thanks

Sounds like the springs. Make sure the tires are all inflated with the same amount of air.
Springs are tricky little suckers. You can't tell by looking at them if they are correct. And there is no telling were the guy who had your car before you got the springs.
Rule of thumb is- always replace the springs in pairs. Start with the rear springs as they are easy to replace. Front springs are more difficult to replace. But make sure you get springs for your specific car.

1. Did you change any suspension bushings?
2. is it sitting on flat level ground?
3. does the car have air shocks in the rear?
4. if so are the air lines independent from one another so that it could be possible to have unequal pressures in them?
i would not change any of the springs until you have driven it a little bit. it might give things time to work into correct possion that otherwise it could not do sitting still. smile.gif

First check your tire pressure. Then bring a tape measure and take the car to your local Wal-mart parking lot or somewhere where it's easy to find a level spot. Find some good reference points on the frame and measure from the ground up to the frame. If it's off left to right, it should be the springs.

I'm with 4 fidy 4, Drive the car and see if it will straighten out, usually does. If not do what Olle said.

Body mounts good??? Seen some rust through and the car then re-settle.

Check to see if it is the body to the frame that is not level or the suspension that is not level before you start throwing parts at it. Nothing worse than a lot of work to find out that wasn't it.
