putting disc on front of 66 chevelle off of 71 M/C i got a valve with monty/c parts, down to lines going on but need to know what valve i have and where can i see pictures of valves :confused:

:confused: I have no idea what you just said, but a 71 monte carlo will have a proportioning valve.

If you got the "valve" off the 71 monte, then you have what is called a combination valve. It has a regulator built into it. Disc brakes cars from 67-70 had a little regulator valve attached up by the master cylinder. that controls or limits pressure to the front discs until the rear has taken up the slack. It is not proportioning valve, there is none. There is however a check valve in the rear of the master cylinder for the rear brakes. It holds about 5 lbs of pressure on the rear brakes to keep the wheel cylinders from collapsing.
