Are power boosters specific to a drum or disk set up? I want to add a power booster to my 71 that has drums all the way around. In the future I want to add disks in front so I was wondering if I'm ok installing a booster in the mean time or will I have to get a different one later when I get disks?

I would suggest a dual diafram pump if your going to upgrade your breaks later. The stopping power is awesome. They will also power 4 wheel disk breaks, Just have to get a different proportioning valve. I have a deal listed in the Chevelle tech 2003 section.

just doing a earch on ebay for a booster there is a good buy from master power brakes complete 9" booster w m/c for 145. the nice thing about that set up is it will let you run tall valve covers on a bb.
looking forward to getting mine.

Loveless,
That's MP Brakes selling stuff in eBay. You can also go to www.mpbrakes.com (http://www.mpbrakes.com) and get the same stuff. I believe they have a special for $125.

Hey Guys,
The booster pump they are selling is a single diafram booster and isn't very good quality. If you want somethign that's not going to last long, Just remember you get what you pay for!!! tongue.gif

thanks for the replys guys!
But I still don't know if I can run any booster and it will work for both a 4 drum or a disk in front set up. Fyi I have a SB so the clearance I'm not worried about

As I have recently learned the power booster for drum and disc is the same - I am doing a disc brake swap on my 70 convertable, learning a lot on this issue as well. Here is a link that may help, although Camaro there is some good info here.

Hope this helps
