Looking for new buckets for my 69. I need them to go back further, so the set up of the brackets is important.
Any ideas? Experience?

View Full Version : Seats for my 69 chevelle House69 Jun 13th, 09, 10:10 PM Looking for new buckets for my 69. I need them to go back further, so the set up of the brackets is important. Any ideas? Experience? Thanks blm Jun 14th, 09, 7:00 PM It's all in the placement and style of mounting brackets that you use. There are lesser quality brackets ( this is probably the type you will need) that allow you to position your bucket seat anywhere. Then there are higher quality mounting brackets that force you to use one of your existing mounting holes and supplies a source for three additional mounting points. This type of brackets does not allow any repositioning of the buckets due to the fact that you must use one of the existing mounting holes. Hope this makes sense. If you search the vendors you will eventually come across the two different types. House69 Jun 15th, 09, 6:31 PM thanks for the input, any vendor you recommend? 658Chevy Jun 16th, 09, 5:10 AM Procar seats are good. Summit has the best deal on price/shipping. A few styles to choose from and there are brackets made for them that (more or less) fit. blm Jun 16th, 09, 10:50 AM Here is a link to Ground Up which offers a couple different styles. The style on the bottom was the one that I thought would allow repositioning, however it looks as though the better quality ( more expensive ) set is a four piece set so I would imagine that set would allow your seats to be repositioned. Also other vendors may offer these same brackets but i guess Ground Up who is a sponsor of this site is as good as anywhere to get them. http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mvc? blm Jun 16th, 09, 10:57 AM Well the link doesn't connect to the parts page it just takes you to their website. You can get to Ground Up website through the home page of this site. There is a link. The two part numbers for the two different style brackets are ICC-001 and IBX-89K. |
