I am amazed at the number of Member cars that are stolen. Knowing that our classic cars are all but impossible to replace, damned hard to get decent, honest insurance and yet every month we learn of more cars lost to theft. I'm getting closer to putting my '67 Malibu back on the road. As soon as I confirm there no leaks, issues or problems my Chevelle is going straight to the folks at Lojack. Under $700 for the basic install. Yeah, they can be a pain in the ass to deal with ... I wonder if the folks at LoJack would give Chevelle team members a bigger break if we could have more members choose LoJack rather than lose their cars to thieves? Looks like at least ten (10) Chevelles are currently shown as recently stolen. Thanks! Seàn Member 2012

Lojack is not only old technology, but it relies on a police cruiser with the system installed to find your car.

There are more versatile options out there that would alert you via cell the minute your car starts to move, and anyone can track it online - I would try one of those systems before the Lojack.

In my opinion, a combination of low dollar deterents would be better than one high dollar system.
For example: Take your coil wire with you, a hidden ignition or fuel cut-off switch, a club.
If you can slow them down, they would lose interest. JMO

I disagree about your comment on insurance. Hagerty was very easy to deal with when my 69 Camaro was stolen 5 years ago. IMO Classic car insurance is very reasonable if not on the cheap side. I have heard more good than bad about classic type insurance. Yes there are restrictions but for the majority of us who do not drive a Chevelle daily, they are not unreasonable.

I can't really say good or bad about LoJack as a theft deterant. But I can say that I have little or no faith in law enforcement around my part of this great nation to take care of their end in the event of a vehicle theft.
