I am attempting to replace my rear coil springs on my 69 Chevelle ss 396 convertible.When the car is hanging on a hoist the springs seem to be loose almost to the point of being able to remove them without removing the shock absober. Is this how they are suppose to be? Any help would be appreciated

Yes, the springs will be fairly loose with no weight on the rear suspension (hanging), remove the lower shock bolts and the springs will come right out. Remember to inspect and replace if necessary the spring insulator at the top of the coil springs. Good Luck
