: 71 shift on column tilt conversion mal68ibu Jan 3rd, 00, 7:04 PM i just converted my 71 chevelle shift on the comunm to a shift on the comunm tilt wheel. now i can't get the car to start. i took the old switches off the straight column and put them on the tilt because they were different. has anyone thats done this conversion run into this problem. any help would be apreciated. thanx Philip Jan 3rd, 00, 8:31 PM The ignition switch that is mounted on the lower part of the column is different on a tilt. It actually works backwards of the non-tilt.
