I was wondering if anyone has any experience with converting over to the rear disc brake setup on the S10 pickups or Jimmy's. I have been considering this swap for a while now but was wondering if there is anything to watch out for or any reason why it would not work, before I do hunting for this setup at the wreckers.
Any information would be appreciated.

Yes, you have to use 2wd rotors and the caliper brackets need to be spaced out from the axle flange a little to make it line up. I found I needed 2 washers on one side and 5 on the other. I don't know why each side was different. I'm going to try to make up some type of single spacer for each bolt or a plate to go in place of the washers. You will also have to open up the middle hole in rotor just a bit. I used a die grinder and just went round and round till it fit on without being loose. You also have to figure out a parking brake cable arrangement if you want them to work. I haven't figure the e-brake out yet since I'm just building the frame right now. Except for the e-brake, they're not hard to get on.

Thanks for the information Peter!
You state to use 2wd drive rotors, is there a difference in the caliper brackets? Wrecked 4wd Blazer and Jimmy's seem to be fairly easy to find up here, can I just grab the setup off of a 4wd and then purchase some 2wd rotors?

I actually don't know what 2wd calipers and brackets look like. I used 4wd hardware with 2wd rotors so go that route too. The 4wd rotors have a way deeper "hat" height, maybe 2" or so.

Awesome I'll give that a try.
