My husband has a 67 chevelle and is planning on putting the brakes from a 73 chevelle on his 67. His concern was that although they appear they will fit, the spindles? are bigger? I have read the archived section here and some posts from this forum but I'm still unclear as to whether or not the swap will work, and if so, what else will be required to make it work (such as different upper control arms. Sorry if I'm not wording this properly, I'm still kinda new to all this car restoration, lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Angel It is called a tall spindle swap. Lots of info here about, if you do a search. click here (http://www.chevelles.com/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/33/34.html?) for one of the threads from the archive section. Hope this helps.

the tall spindle swap is common. read all the posts on it. I recall they say that you will need to use certain ball joints which will only fit your stock control arm with some milling of the control arm or ball joint, can't recall which of the top of my head. Not hard for a machine shop to make the fit. Stock control arms will work, but sometimes in big block cars there is an interference problem. The taller spindles force you to put numerous shims on the top control arm to get correct camber and caster. By pushing the control arm towards the engine, you may interfere with headers, especially on the big block. If this occurs, then you have to buy aftermarket upper control arm from Global west or hotchkis. But I haven't done this swap yet, am going to soon, so I read most posts. If you run a small block with no headers, shims should not pose a problem.
