I have a 67 Chevelle, I bought/installed new front coil springs and the things sits real high in front. Before the top of the tires were slightly tucked under fenderwell, these new springs raised it about 4 inches. It seems high, but look cool, but I don't know what "normal" is. I wanted to know if raising the car 4-5 inches w/the new springs wil effect anythign else? What should Ikee my eye on? How high should the bumber be? Thanks. T.

Hey Troy,
I am getting ready to rebuild the suspension on my '66. I haven't done it yet, but I have been doing a lot of research on suspension lately.
One of the tips a lot of the guys have mentioned is to make sure you do NOT tighten everything before the car is on the ground and under load. Apparently it can "pre-load" the suspension if you tighten everything while still in the air.
Just thought I would pass that along. It might help get the front down a little.

Troy, mine did the exact same thing. I knew it say too low before so I put stock replacement springs in and it went to the moon. I only have about an inch of travel before I'm out of travel on the front. I should loosen everything up, bounce on it a little and try to snug it back up while on the ground. Curtis, is it the A-Frame bushings that are binding up or just everything? It really altered the way the car handles too, must have really thrown off the alignment with the travel change.
