Why are there popups... well, popping up when the cursor is dragged over highlighted and underlined words in our posts? I posted a comment in the CE forum and now there's some kind of link in one of the words that pops up a little ad window if you put the cursor on it. I didn't put that link there.

Got a link to your post ?
Hi Kirk. That's not coming from us. There is something turned on with your browser that is highlighting the keywords and linking them.

You're right Al, someone turned off my pop up blocker. I just turned it back on and their gone. Thanks.
Just wondering though, how do those things work? The windows that pop up are ads that are related to the word that has the link. Like if the word was "work," a job search ad popped up. In my case it was the word "point" in post # 46, top of this (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277054&page=4) page.

Seem's I can't access whatever page your link goes to.
Why is that Al ?

Well, its not my pop up blocker. Its turned on and I'm still seeing these things. The word "work" in my previous post is now a pop up from Gamevance advertising with a link to Job.com. All these things are from Gamevance.
I wonder if this could be some kind of adware thing? I access TC from 3 different computers but I only see them on this machine. I'll have to run a scan and see if it comes up with anything.
Edit: now that I look, the word "job" in that post is now a link too.
Edit: looks like these things change every time you bring up the page. I just refreshed this one and now they're gone.

OK, I found out what was causing my problem. Someone here at work installed software on this machine from an online gaming site called Gamevance and apparently the adware that was responsible came along with it. A quick uninstall and the problem is gone.
