at least the problem i had at the track last week...

I'm working on getting the holly plumbed up replacing the carter. Mocking stuff up, i'm using the rubber line attached with the chrome metal fuel filter (cheapo spectre crap) and i notice if i bump it, there is a loud clunk from it.

took it all apart tonight, and the filter peice inside it somehow came loose from the inlet side- it was rattling around in there, sometimes interfearign with the inlet...

Pretty sure that was probably causing that idle fluctuation problem...

maybe george should check his filters ;)

I've now got a nice assortment of AN fittings to plumb up the Holley and the new summit filter, so I should have it running tonight or tomorrow.
Between the questionably setup carter afb carb and the messed up filter- Hopefully after this swap & tune, i'll feel some improvements in the butt dyno.

Eric (66dreamer) bought a cool digital a/f meter thing-a-majig so that should come in handy to dial this in. I know he's already ripped his carb back off to change stuff on his car after a brief session using the meter.

Did he ever verify TDC was correct? If not, I wonder where the cam was degreed in at? It's just strange to continue to gain MPH and ET by reducing the timing adavnce so far. His fastest pass was with 20* total timing and it was still pinging.

He told me hes going down to honest performance today to pick up a new cam for the 350 today (gregs old cam will be goin in his 383 eventually) so i don't think he cares too much about the way its currently setup- he'll fix\verify that when the new cam goes in.

He just wants the carb dialed in as close as he can so it'll be good to go to start it back up after the cam swap.
