I'm in the process of restoring a 67' Malibu with factory air. I'm having a hard time locating a source for the the little rubber valve thats at the bottom of the evaporator housing (the part that resides behind the firewall). It's round at the top and flat at the bottom like a whoopie cushion. My local GM parts guy says that it's no longer available. Any leads or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try a junk yard.

I know exactly what valve you are talking about. I've never actually tried to see if they are the same on all GM cars, but I'd bet good money that it is the same on millions of GM cars/trucks.

The GM parts dude that was trying to cross it for me may not be a resourceful as some so I think I'll try a different dealership. I'm trying to find something new, even if I find one in a junkyard off of say a 79', it's still 20 yr. old rubber. Thanks.
