The real deal.
1966 PCH street racer and surf cruiser + Pacific Ocean + 7'10 Randy Lewis Big Huntington gun for offshore walls and maximum accelleration down the face (to save your life at times) = Surfin'66.

This gun runs a big single fin for stability on very vertical faces where acceleration and forward drive are critical for safety.
Older pix when the body was still in it's original state from sitting for 2 decades without moving. Only the mechanicals had been in progress at the time of the photos.

Bob80,

That's a pretty nice lookin' stick. How far to the water from your place in GA? The board looks brand-new.

Are you a bona-fide East Coast surfrider? That's the old term... the word "surfer" has been used to death by just about everyone anymore.

Nice setup you have there. How are you going to carry the board? Here guys with Elcos often mount a traditional rack to the roof (only one) and then also fab up a structure bolt to the back of the bed to level the board and hold it back by the tail.
For mine I welded up special brackets to allow easy on/off of my racks so they don't get stolen at the bleach. I use my old Alohas that I've had forever. My offshore gun isn't as long as your noserider, so I didn't have to figure on much overhang past the rear. As much as it does have is as much as I'd ever let it stick out back there (traffic rules here in CA).

Your car and board both look pretty nice. For the board it's always the first few pressure dings that hurt the most. After that, they're more like marks of pride of waves you made.
For the car, I guess you could call dents pressure dings. Same thing, but less satisfaction and pride. Maybe no satisfaction or pride on those kind, eh?

Cool beans, dude. Da Kine.

Surfin 66, cool ride. That is expensive board carrier. I have the padded one that wraps the tailgate and ties down the board. You have a cool ride there. Eric, thanks for the comments. All rideable water 5 hours or more from Atlanta. Last rode a hobie in 1968. Looking forward to my next ride, probably in Charleston, SC where my daughter lives.
