Got my A-arms off and currently at the machine shop getting bushings pressed out. Plan to have them powder coated along with my sway bar.
But, one thing leads to the next and I figure I should go ahead and have the spindles done too.

Tried turning the nuts off the two bolts that hold them on but the bolt turns with the nut. How do I get on the head of the bolt with the dust shield in place or is there more to disassemble before I can remove the spindle?

It's a 70 with front discs if that matters.

thanks,

Scott, if you haven't already, remove caliper are rotor. There are three bolts holding the backing plate and caliper bracket to the spindle. http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/70Z15/Jul10n05.JPG
The large top bolt threads into the spindle. The bottom two bolts got through spindle and have nuts on them.

Tim,
Thanks for the reply. I never did anything like this before so all help is appreciated. I have already removed the entire unit(rotor, caliper, spindle, dust shield, etc.) as a whole so I'll have to get a buddy to help me hold it or throw it in a vice to get the bolts loose.

Is that a new dust shield or how did you get the original one so nice? Can something like that be powder coated or is it too thin?
