How much clearance do you have between the front sway bar and the front spring tower?

Why? After installing the engine and letting the front end take the weight, the clearance between the front sway bar and the spring towers is almost zero.

I may need to change my aftermarket "stock replacement" bar for a different one...that fits. The bar I have seems to be too narrow in total width.

If you can please post the brand bar you are using and photos if you have them

Some of the "stock replacement" bars are based on the 64-67 sway bars which have a sligtly different bend in the arm than the 68-72 sway bars. Installation of these bars on a 68-72 frame will hit the spring pocket as the 68-72 spring pocket is larger. Most aftermarket sway bars are based on the 68-72 sway bar which will retrofit to the earlier models without issue.
