Hey guys, saw this car posted here in the classifieds. It is what I am looking for, a 70 SS, red/black, paperwork, original drivetrain. Looks rough. Anybody know this car or anything about it?? If not, any opinions if it would be worth restoring? Guy says car was hit pretty hard on passenger side, I have asked for pics and I am waiting on those if he can provide them. Just thought I would see if anybody knows anything about this car. Thanks for any help you can provide. Here is the link:

I saw these cars for sale in Charlotte NC 6/7 weeks ago. Asking price was 11K. The car in the picture was wrecked and rolled over pretty good, the donor car fair. The motor is an original, I didn't see any paperwork on the car and you would have to swap the body's to make 1 car. Since it's illegal to swap the vin tag, all you are left with is a 70 Chevelle that could cost you upwards of 40/50K to make it into a nice car with a NOM motor. The package is worth no more than 3/4K in my opinion, it's been for sale for a long time so that should tell you something. Just my opinion on these cars.

Thanks for your info. I was afraid that the car would be too far gone to save. I still have not gotten pics of the wrecked area, but sounds like it would be a lost cause unless you plan on building an illegal car. I would love to get a car like this and restore it back to factory specs, but this does not look to be a good candidate for that, especially at the price he is asking. Maybe someone can find a legimate way of saving this car. BTW, saw your 70 at CB09, great looking car.
