Has anyone out there used the 1 1/4" Hotchkis front sway bar? I installed it in my 70, which otherwise is stock, with Hotchkis front springs, Bilstein shocks, and Moog joints, and when the travel goes down in the front, the sway bar hits the frame on both sides. It hits bad enough to where it binds the sway bar to the frame and I can not get full travel. If anyone has had this problem, please let me know, or if any ideas, that would be great. I am going to call Hotchkis, but I wanted to make sure it was not some stupid 'operator error' before I called. Thanks for any help!!

Are the endlinks maybe tightened to much? Just a thought.

I have one of their bars, and it is pretty tight. It actually makes contact with the passenger side bump stop bracket.

I thought the bar was off center, but I looked at the bracket and it is welded slightly more to the outside on the passenger side than driver. It looks like someone didn't have it in the right position when the frame was assembled at the factory.

I am not sure if yours is hitting in the same spot, but the bracket is not a structural part of the frame and could probably be modified (BFH) without effecting the frame.

You might also have some slight frame damage from a front impact or from frame sag that is making the clearances tighter.

Im not sure if there is some reason that hotchkis couldn't make the spacing wider or not. It might interfere with something else if made wider.

You might be able to shorten your end link spacers a little so the swaybar ends don't stick up as much. You would just have to make sure that you didn't shorten it so much as to cause it to bind when suspension is at full droop.

I would suggest getting shorter end links at your local auto parts store...Most suspension catalogs have a section in the rear with specs on almost every part they manufacture..Once again like cperrell mentioned you dont want to go too short.. Its a inexpensive alternative...
