: A big THANK YOU!!
Ark68SS Jun 8th, 09, 12:43 AM Copied from Bench, but I wanted to get as much exposure as possible--thank ya'll.
:bow:To all the folks who helped Louis Moseley, a good friend of mine at his first Chevelle-a-bration, with parts, towing, tools and encouragement so he could get his '67 back together and home to Little Rock after breaking the pinion yoke at the drag strip Friday night. I'm sure I'm forgetting some folks but thanks to Chris Carney (ccarney69) for the use of his truck and trailer to haul it back to the hotel, Mike Brown (69SSRat) for a U joint and invaluable mechanical support, Bob Inhoff (Robinls5)who for some reason carries a spare pinion yoke in his car, and we're dang happy that he does :hurray:, Geno, Pete, and Les from the I40 convoy, Chuck Hanson, and especially the guy who lent us his metal claw hammer with the rubber handle that we never got the name of:confused: (PM me with your address and we'll UPS it back to you). Louis had to change a LCA at the show field on Saturday when he found out it had almost ripped the bushing from the eye, but he got-er-done and made it back to Little Rock late Saturday night.
Louis isn't a very computer-savvy guy, and isn't a TC member, so he asked me to get the word out for him.
It's situations like this that bring out the best in folks, and the Chevelle guys and girls are some of the best in the entire world.
Once again, thank ya'll!!

427L88 Jun 8th, 09, 7:13 AM I wasnt one of the aiders, but I'll tell you what, folks in this family look for the opportunity to help one another, and that's a fact.
Inhoff, that sob is full of "yokes", he never stops yammerin'! ;)
With all the spare parts that are brought to CB I would bet you could almost rebuild a whole drivetrain!
BB_Mike Jun 8th, 09, 8:54 AM I provided management assistance... ;)
69SSRat Jun 8th, 09, 10:02 AM And we couldn't have made it without you
BBMike
the support was great.:hurray::hurray:
ACES1 Jun 8th, 09, 10:27 AM Agreed, Bill! Folks at Chevell-abration and Members of ACES never cease to amaze me with their compassion and sense of commitment to their fellow enthusiasts. I suspect this same attitude carries over into the everyday facets of their lives, as well. It just goes to show ya that indeed, the folks in this Chevelle family truly are the best! Looking forward to seeing y'all again next year!
TSM5150 Jun 8th, 09, 10:23 PM Hey Bill, my name is Tracey, aka the guy with the Hammer-lol. Glad I was able to contribute in some small way. I'm even happier that the car was back pounding the pavement the very next day (or atleast once Louis found those bolts). Don't worry about the Hammer, keep it as a memory of that crazy night.
btw-I've never seen a u-joint and yoke come apart the way those did.
Ark68SS Jun 9th, 09, 3:07 PM Thanks Tracey!!
Pics of the destruction-pinion flange in pieces and torn LCA.

ccarney69 Jun 10th, 09, 12:22 AM Bill,
You left yourself out of this one. You're the guy who made it all happen. You set up the tow, found most of the tools and parts and laid on your back with Louis until the job was done. The rest of us were just the pawns! When things get tough, I want you and Mike Brown on my side, you guys are the best.
And Pete, are you still planning on investing everything in LED lights??
Chris

BlueSS454 Jun 10th, 09, 1:01 AM I still can't believe that pinion yoke shattered like that. I was right behind in the burnout box when that happened. Glad everything was worked out and you guys got the car back on the road. That is what being at Chevelle~a~Bration is all about

Robinls5 Jun 14th, 09, 1:11 PM To this day , I just KANT believe a 283 with a Power Glide could put a hurtin like that on a 12 bolt yoke. That Louis guy is a " Big Boy ".
