: Leaking Oil Sending Unit??

I have a leak in this area and everything is dry except for the end where the wire connects (it points downward due to the headers and 4 spd linkage). Has anyone had the actual sending unit develop a leak? Again, I do not believe its coming from the connections to the block or adapter. I did have this motor out in the winter so its possible it was bumped while coming out etc. Will likely try some brak cleen and silicone to see what happens.

Common as dirt. Happens all the time. Slap a new sender in there.

Andre,
SIlicon will not help a thing, like Schurkey said get a new one and be done with it.

This is for a factory gauge set up - I see these are $70 in the NPD catalog, can I just use an aftermarket product?

Thanks again!

Andre,
Check with a "real" parts store and see if they have one from Borg Warner or another aftermarket maufacturer. AC Delco still shows it on thier online catalog, part number 15591103
