Buy the premade setup for your car as they are DOT certified -homemade ones are not-and God help you if you break a line and have a wreck and somwe lawyer finds out.

I need custom brake lines for my chevelle...I have to connect my stock replacement hard-lines, to C5 corvette front calipers, and f-body rear calipers. I was looking at buying the materials from Summit and doing it myself. My main problem right now is that I don't know what size/kind of fittings I need. I also need the line that connects from the rear hardline to the axle housing, that has the little 'T' fitting for the axle hardlines. I figured I'd need to re-use my factory 'T' fitting.

Anyone else have input on making brake lines like this? Should I call up Earl's Brake Lines and have them custom made?

The type of fittings required for converting a C5 to a facotry setup is;

10mm X 1.25 or 3/8" banjo for the caliper
3/8 -24 for the other end to mate to the hard line. Russel peformance sells lines that will work for you or you can purchase a 97 F body front flex line and that will also work.

Good Luck

Todd!

I had Earls make up my flex like to the rear end housing. And yes it must be DOT approved or if you have an accident and it is not you are in a world of hurt,that is if you plane to drive your car on the street. Summit has the kits for race car application only I belive. the one I got from Earls looks real nice and fit like it was supposed to. Good luck with your car
